Two New Movies

Two new movies arrived in theaters last Friday, one of them being the new batman movie: The Dark Knight. Batman took the top spot at the box office, with an impressive 158 million for the opening weekend, in the US.

Batman raises the stakes in his war on crime. With the help of Lieutenant Jim Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent, Batman sets out to dismantle the remaining criminal organizations that plague the city streets. The partnership proves to be effective, but they soon find themselves prey to a reign of chaos unleashed by a rising criminal mastermind known to the terrified citizens of Gotham as The Joker. Mamma Mia! opened the same day as The Dark Knight, raking in about 28 million dollars, an astounding difference to the next Batman movie.

Donna, an independent hotelier in the Greek islands, is preparing for her daughter's wedding with the help of two old friends. Meanwhile Sophie, Donna's spirited daughter, has a plan of her own.
